Talk about a print clash, right? I’ve had this blazer since my university days, and the brogues, they mark my first visit to a “Marché aux Puces” when I first moved to Paris. This coach bag actually belonged to my mother for years – I had always admired it and after a friend of hers gifted her a very similar one, she gave me her old version. So I guess today I am wearing a lot of memories – and those are my favourite garments, ones that have seen you through a stage in your life. It is my vintage pieces or my mom’s hand me downs that have the most substance, and they mean so much more to me than my more expensive/designer clothing. What do you guys think? Are there clothes in your wardrobe that are more souvenirs than statement pieces? More tomorrow! Photos: Anastasia Nielsen

My clothes I’ve inherited mean so much more than any designer Item I’ve ever received as I feel I’m making memories but embracing old ones through my mum’s clothes, one of my favourite recent frassy posts!

I’m loving the vintage vibes here. I can relate that some pieces are more like souvenirs, especially eclectic jewellery that I buy when I’m on holidays. There’s just so many memories connected.

I think you look amazing and I would never have guessed some of these items were vintage. I cant really relate to vintage – I would never wear any of my mums clothes because unfortunately they are not my style and unless I know the story behind the owners of vintage clothes that can be bought in shops, they may as well be brand new; although I know the benefit there is you are unlikely to be spotted in the same outfit as someone else! I have to say I like my new statement pieces, but that may be because I haven’t had the opportunity to experience a real sentimental vintage piece. I did ask my mum if she kept my satchel from my school days before I bought one from the Cambridge Satchel Company – that may have changed my mind x

I completely agree, some items although I’d probably never wear them again I just can’t get rid of because of the memories they hold!

I love the mismatched look. You pull it off better than most, though. Clothes should all have a story, I love yours! I have shoes that remind me of a certain point in my life, dresses that remind me of friends and jacket that was gifted to me by my boyfriend’s mum.
