progressions of an effortless kind

Sometimes progression in life develops but so slowly, I fail to notice. Until I look back down the timeline of the past few months and it hits me. Things happen, they change in the tiniest, most ordinary of ways and I rarely take heed of all these details that collected into a change. A change that in some way or another, pushes or defines life onwards.  I think so often, we are obsessed with speed and in life, it so often feels like a race. When really, I think the most curious is how change develops naturally and without notice.  How lovely and quite magical to be sitting at dinner or walking down a street to realize that some advancements in life feel like they suddenly appeared and the effort I put in didn’t feel like an effort, it was something I simply did frequently that changed everything for the better, bringing me to today when I look around and feel quite blessed to have certain progressions roll through my life like a wave. I’m not referring to money in my bank account or work projects or instagram followers (eye roll), but the more invaluable sides of my life that aren’t measurable in numeric form. Biba is a commitment but one that, a year later became my most beloved companion. For so long I desperately craved  a dog of my own and to finally have one, trained and so loyal makes me happier than almost anything else in life. Or my boyfriend, a relationship that developed so swiftly and so effortlessly I barely saw it happen. We now see each other everyday, very rarely argue and he supports me in a way I had only ever expected from my best friends. It is a rewarding and refreshing thing to find a man so truly good. I often eat my kind words when it comes to the men that have run their course through my life but I have high expectations for this one. Or, a few weeks ago I came across some archived photos of me in sportswear, 365 days later I have muscles that grew considerably but at a minuscule pace everyday in the last year. These duties to my animal, my man and my body are what make me feel rich for they involve an effort that feels so very effortless. And to watch them expand and grow and fold deeper into my life without ever feeling tired or demotivated is a treasure.

  • I enjoyed reading this post 🙂 it’s funny how things can work out in life, and I believe now more than ever that things happen for a reason. I hope that you continue to be happy with all these things in your life from now on 🙂 I’m still progressing in my life, especially with uni and (hopefully) a career. Something that’s happened recently is that I started a placement that I wasn’t 100% sure I’d take to, but I love it and at the end of it there’s a chance I’ll get a job! I had no hope at all of finding a job as a photographer in my home town, especially as I’d been told over and over again that I HAVE to move to London. It’s going to be interesting to see how this progresses ^_^ xx
